Nothing

2017 - 2019

In 2017 and 2019 I led two ACE-funded R&D’s into a theatre adaptation of Yanne Teller’s controversial YA novel ‘Nothing’. We explored the use of projection, shadow play, original music and foley sound to tell the story about a group of teenager’s gruesome quest for The Meaning.

Our first R&D took place at the Little Angel Theatre, where I was a sponsored artist, with the second R&D culminating in a scratch performance at Omnibus Clapham. Since then other projects took the lead, but I’m still fascinated by this story, and the exciting potential for an increasingly relevant show. My ideas continue to grow, and when the time is right, Nothing will become something!

Below you can watch the video of our first R&D filmed by Alicia Britt, and our second R&D filmed by Renee Bailey.
